So, we took it to Hilti Sydney, who refused to work on it because it's too old. the past year, drill bits constantly kept getting stuck in the chuck mechanism, i think it is because the ball bearings in the 'SDS style' front chuck mechanism have worn. I've seen this thread ( ) which discusses the predecessor model, the TE-17, which contains some related information.īasically, my father owns a TE-22 (the successor to the classic TE-17) which is a hammer drill about 15-20 years old and built like a Tiger tank, which has been a really good reliable tool until recently.
